Management Meets Tech: Why I Study Business at Frankfurt School and Offer IT Services

How does a management degree fit perfectly with Smart Home and AI automation? A look behind the scenes of Digital Services Frankfurt.

I’m often asked: “Nicolai, you’re studying for a Master’s in Management at the Frankfurt School – so why do you fix Wi-Fi routers or program AI workflows for small businesses?”

For me, it’s not a contradiction, but the perfect complement. In my studies and through my experiences at PwC and Fresenius, I learn how to optimize processes and align companies strategically. With Digital Services Frankfurt, I bring exactly this knowledge into the daily lives of private individuals and small businesses.

Technology Must Have a Goal

There’s no point in having the latest technology if it doesn’t help save time or make life more comfortable. This is exactly where my management background bridges the gap to IT:

  • Efficiency: When I build AI automation for a Frankfurt company, I don’t just think about the code, but about the time savings and the cost-benefit ratio.
  • Problem Solving: Winning a Case Competition (like recently at the FS CaseCompetition 2025 with Eintracht Frankfurt!) requires exactly what I also need for a complex Smart Home setup: analytical thinking, teamwork, and a clear focus on solutions.

Personal Exchange Counts

The interactive exchange at the university, the teamwork at PwC, and the direct conversations with my customers in Frankfurt – that’s what I enjoy. For me, technology is not an end in itself, but a tool to solve real problems.

Whether in a team meeting at the Frankfurt School or in your living room: I’m passionate about making complex things simple and usable.
